Home Scan Home Inspections is owned and operated by Philip and Lana Steidinger, a husband-and-wife team in Sharpsburg, Georgia. Together, they have five children and three grandchildren.

Philip has spent over 35 years in the construction business! From building new homes to remodeling existing homes, he has been around this type of work since he was 16 years old.  As he had gotten older, he had been intentional in teaching his own children and also his son in law, Jack, everything he knows about construction.

Four years ago, Philip and Lana took on one of their biggest projects yet—building their dream Airbnb on Lake Wedowee from the ground up! (Check it out: link to property).

After completing that project, Philip decided it was time to slow down and put his years of construction experience to work in a less physically demanding way. That’s how Home Scan Home Inspections was born!

Philip holds over 15 inspection certifications through InterNACHI, covering major home systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and more. Jack joined the home scan team a couple of years so and also holds over 15 inspection certifications through interNACHI.  They pride themselves on conducting very thorough inspections and also having the ability to explain potential issues to home buyers. They easily help them understand what matters most by offering practical, cost-effective solutions when repairs are needed.

Lana keeps everything running smoothly in the office and schedules all inspections. When you call Home Scan, you’ll always get a real person who knows you and is ready to help!
